Surprise! New Area Again

Whattup y'all, sorry I didn't send out an email last week.

So I got transferred again! I am now in Cheney Washington over the YSA ward. My new address is 610 Villard Cheney WA 99004. I am now companions with Elder Brunner from North Slat Lake UT. He is awesome and we get along great. I got transferred mid-week (4 days into my new area) after 2 elders left (one for visa, one for medical).

We had a pretty busy week this week, this area has a lot of potential. We have one investigator on date for baptism, his name is Naeem. He is awesome. He has already read to 2 Nephi 16! How awesome is that?? We found another new investigator this week named Trevor. He is an atheist but he loved the idea of the plan of salvation. He told us that if there was a God he would have a smart plan like what we just shared with him.

Other than that we walk around the campus of Eastern Washington University a lot. It is kind of weird working with people close to my age. Sometimes it is really intimidating to talk to big groups of people. For the most part, it is super fun though. We do a lot of work at the institute; we teach most our lessons there. Cheney, Washington is literally the most podunk little place ever, I'm not even sure why they have a college here. There is one bowling alley and that is about it. The good news is that a member owns it, so we get free bowing.

This week I was reading in Alma as the sons of Mosiah are teaching the Lamanites. It says that as many Laminates that did believe the words of the sons of Mosiah and did become converted unto the Lord never did fall away. What a remarkable conversion story! The power of the life of Jesus Christ can change the hearts of men. We all stand in need of change in our lives. Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can not only repent of our sins, but we can be enabled to stretch and reach and grow through the enabling power of his sacrifice. I hope we remember often the potential that each of us has because of the grace of our Savior. I hope we can all live life in a way that allows others to see that we are disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. I love you all and have a testimony of our Savior's love for all of us. Remember, with him you will always be good enough :)

I love all of you. I never have enough time to email all of you back, but if you email me your mailing address, I usually have more time to write letters. So HMU if you want a letter!

Also yes, we did climb up on a roof and take pictures...(see below)

Being Transferred :(

Whattup Y'all, I am getting transferred tomorrow! I am headed to East Spokane. My new address is: 310 N Raymond Rd Apt D4 Spokane Valley 99206 (Send me stuff)

Elders and Sisters on John's baptism day

We had a good last week here in Moscow. Last transfer Elder Collins and I found a man in the pit named John. We taught him several times but we had to pass him off to the sister missionaries because he is a young single adult. He got baptized on Saturday! It was awesome to see that happen. Also, he is from the pit. I cant believe someone from the pit got baptized. It seems like they always go to jail. That made my week.

Also we taught Jerry again this week. He can't get over the Trinity. We brought him to John's baptism and he loved it. We are going to work on the whole Tri-un-God thing. I don't have much else this week y'all. Other than the fact that it is snowing right now.

I caved and bought another watch, whoops. I have acquired 4 now. I have a problem.

Elder Rapier and PJ
I am sorry my email is lame this week. The good news is I went back to the pit and took a picture with crazy PJ.

Do good and love God! Pray for me during transfers!

General Conference

Whattup y'all. Hope you all had the chance to take in the counsel given by our prophet and apostles this last weekend. It was truly enlightening for me, I kind of realized how much I need to be doing better!

Appointment time! Or is it?

We had a great week of missionary work; we found two new investigators - neither of whom live in the pit! Wahoo. The probability of them going to jail is a lot lower than those from the pit. I have now had 6 of my investigators go to jail, I am hoping that number does not go up any more.

We had an amazing lesson last night with a man named Aspen. He lives with a recent convert family in our ward. We taught him the restoration last night and the spirit filled the room. We watched the Joseph Smith video and he said that his favorite part was when they got baptized. He is really excited to read the Book of Mormon and get baptized. I am so thankful for wonderful experiences like that. It makes all of the sacrifice worth it.

We also taught a guy named Derek. He is a hillbilly country boy. He owns a 3,500 acre farm in south Idaho. He is a 2-day catholic (Christmas and Easter). He invited us back. He loved Joseph Smith's experience with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. We meet with both of them again this week. Please send your prayers their way!

I hope you all payed attention to Robert D. Hales talk on Saturday. He talked about being a disciple of Christ. I think sometimes we don't understand that we all are disciples of Christ. When you're baptized that is what we agree to. Let us "walk uprightly before the Lord." As we come to know who Jesus Christ is personally, and as he becomes our friend, temptations and sin disappear. So do our carnal desires. Cast off the natural man, take up the yoke of Jesus Christ and become converted to him and his teaching. This is my prayer for all of us as disciples of Christ.

I love you all so much. :) Also I got mail/packages 6 out of 7 days this week! Y'all rock, thank you so much. Getting mail is my favorite thing :)
